Dispenser Page
If the user wants more information about an alert they can tap and reveal the dispenser information page. Here they can determine the dispenser’s location, additional supply levels, report an error or gain additional training materials on how to properly service the dispenser.

If the Dispenser has an alert that will not clear or is malfunctioning custodial staff can report the error to Georgia Pacific’s support department for resolution.

User Priorities
Alerts
The alert page is the primary screen for the user. Here custodial staff can see which dispensers are out and the rooms they’re located in. By categorizing things by location and then by urgency (time) the user can prioritize their tasks based on their proximity and the urgency of the outtage. The user also has a filtering panel where they can reorder and filter the alerts to their preference and workstyle.

IoT Management App
Discovery
Research part I Travellers:
200 in-person survey intercepts were conducted with travelers who had just visited a restroom located on Concourse B regarding their experience.
Research part II Custodial Staff:

Over a two week period Shadowing, Observations and interviews were conducted with Management, Supervisors, and Restroom attendants to gain a deeper understanding of the needs and painpoints of the high traffic washroom through the lens of the custodial staff
Using the Atlanta airport as a research and initial test site, Identify key opportunities for improvement in the overall restroom experience and develop a solution leveraging Georiga Pacific’s line of IoT dispensers that allows custodial staff and site managers to address those concerns.
60% of those surveyed indiciated that there was room for improvement around space, cleanliness, better amenities and wait time
It’s difficult for attendants to maintain a constant state of order and cleanliness because they are often reacting to immediate needs in the restroom
We observed issues quickly pile up and being able to prioritize those issues effectively is critical
As staff deals with an issue on one end of the terminal, they have no idea what is happening on the other end.
Key Findings
Attendants are careful not to throw out toilet paper or paper towels unless they have completely run out. This focus on not wasting product led to inefficiency in service
